Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) President Simranjit Singh Mann and Khalistan ideologue Jagjit Singh Chouhan have been booked by police on charges of sedition.

Mann had been booked for allegedly raising slogans for Khalistan state (a separate Sikh homeland) on June six in the Golden Temple complex on the occasion of the anniversary of Operation Bluestar, S.S.P. R.R. Brar said here today.

Chouhan, chief of self-styled Khalsa Raj Party, was booked on similar charges, he said.

Some members of radical Sikh organisations were also booked on charges of sedition, the S.S.P. said.
